Squalane: A Serious Skin Beautifier

Hydrated skin is healthy skin, and healthy skin is essential. One of the best sources of hydration is squalane. Here’s how this fantastic ingredient works and why it’s a “must-have” in any skincare regimen:

What it is: An outstanding emollient that mimics skin’s natural oils that’s also a highly effective antioxidant.

How squalane is different from Squalene: Squalene is a lipid our skin naturally produces that declines with age, causing it to become thinner and drier with each passing decade. It’s also found in olives, rice bran, and sugar cane. Because it is too unstable to be used in skincare products,  squalene must be hydrogenated into squalane with an “a,” a more stable form of the same molecule. Hydrogenation is the process of turning an unsaturated oil into a saturated one.

How squalane works with our signature supercharged hyaluronic acid molecules: Consider it the dynamic duo that helps skin achieve optimal hydration and moisturization. HA draws skin-plumping water into skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while boosting vital moisture reserves to help strengthen skin’s protective moisture barrier and improve skin comfort and elasticity. Squalane helps to further reinforce our protective moisture barrier to lock in crucial hydration and keep out irritants. It also reduces rough patches and flaking to make skin soft and smooth.

We formulate our Renewing HA Serum with highly effective Hyaluronic Acid and 3rd Generation Squalane concentrations.
